WHY VOLUNTEER

Be part of something new and meaningful for Puerto Rico. As a Support Crew member you can:

  • Help deliver a safe, professional, high-energy event

  • Experience the behind-the-scenes of a tactical fitness + shooting competition

  • Earn official volunteer gear and future event perks

  • Connect with athletes, first responders, and passionate shooters - and build community

Whether you want to assist for a day or gain experience for future events, there’s a role for you.

VOLUNTEER ROLES

Athlete Services Team

Welcome and guide athletes and spectators, manage check-in and staging zones, and assist with general coordination. Ideal for organized individuals with good communication skills.

Stage Crew

Help reset weights and equipment between heats, replace targets after shooting stages, and ensure smooth transitions for athletes. Physical work and fast-paced shifts - perfect for those who like to stay active.

Judges

Ensure competitors follow workout and shooting standards. Requires attention to detail and fairness under pressure.

Scoring & Data Crew

Handle scoring: track hits/misses, record results in scoring systems, and support judging operations.

Range Operations Support

Assist certified Range Officers (ROs) to maintain safety protocols, manage range flow, and support firearms handling procedures.

Medical & Athlete Care Team

For certified first-aid or CPR volunteers - provide basic medical support, monitor athlete well-being, and assist with recovery or emergencies if needed.

Media Crew

Capture photos, video, and social content. Help tell the story of The PGPR through digital media. Ideal for those with previous media experience.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Must attend a mandatory Volunteer & Safety Briefing prior to the event

  • Wear closed-toe shoes; bring basic protective gear (ear/eye protection) or accept provided gear

  • Be able to follow instructions and maintain professionalism under pressure

Additional role-specific qualifications (e.g. CPR certification, previous shooting or event experience) are encouraged but not mandatory for all roles.

VOLUNTEER PERKS

All volunteers receive:

  • Official volunteer shirt and ID

  • Food and water during the event

  • Access to behind-the-scenes areas (if needed)

  • Volunteer service certificate (useful for resumes or future events)

  • Opportunity for discounted or free entry to future editions of The PGPR

VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE

Friday, March 6 - Setup & Athlete Check-In

Help us set the stage for history.

  • Optional Volunteer Shifts Throughout the Day

    • Gear setup

    • Range preparation

    • Signage and station layout

    • Support crews as we finalize the battlefield for competition day

Athlete Check-In Support - Starting at 6:00 PM

  • Assist with athlete bag distribution, check-in flow, and venue guidance

Safety Briefing Support - 7:00 PM

Help maintain organization and manage access during the athlete briefing

  • Social & Community Engagement (Evening)

  • Volunteers helping with logistics and attendee support as athletes meet each other, enjoy music, and get energized for the event

* Friday is optional  but it’s a great chance to learn the layout and team dynamics before the competition begins.

Saturday, March 7 - Competition Day

The day we’ve all been preparing for.

  • Volunteer Briefing - 6:00 AM

    • Final roles & assignments

    • Radio & equipment distribution

    • Safety reinforcement

    • Range procedures confirmed

  • Competition Launch - 7:30 AM SHARP
    Volunteers support:

    • Stage reset & transitions

    • Athlete movement and timing

    • Spectator safety & information

    • Range and scoring operations

    • Media capture and content coordination

  • Event End + Teardown - ~4:00 PM

    • Breakdown equipment

    • Clear competition zones

    • Celebrate the success 🎉

Volunteers may choose full-day or half-day shifts depending on their availability - every role helps bring this event to life.
